Our featured employee for May is…Mike Arentz!! Mike has been with Frederick Aviation for 4 years! He is one of our Avionics Techs, and came to us from the Army. He was in the armed forces for 9 years, and says he has fond memories of the experience.
Mike was born in Hanover, PA but now resides in Mt. Airy. He has three children: Jessica, Tyler, and Morgan.
His favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse (has a thing for steak!)
Also has a thing for Jack & Coke!
His favorite place to vacation is Savannah, Georgia.
His hobbies consist of motorcycles and softball.
His ideal vacation? Germany (says it was a place he always wanted to get to, while in the Army, and never got sent there).
Something most people don’t know? 8 tattoos and 1 piercing (NO! I didn’t ask to see them, or ask where they are all located!)
The craziest thing he’s ever done? (some of you may know…) He got into the “Ring of Fear” with a rodeo bull at “Battle of the Beast”! I asked what that felt like? “The longest 90 seconds of my life”! Good answer! Would he do it again? Yes – absolutely! (now that tells us something about his mental capacity – don’t you think?) But he and his partner did WIN that night – Well, that makes it all better!
What famous person would he like to date? Anjolina – I guess!
What T.V. Show describes his childhood? The Simpson’s – O.K. Bart!
Favorite Holiday? Halloween – Always liked dressing up – He worked in a haunted barn in Taneytown for years, scaring people – loved it!
What famous person would you like to be for a day? Dale Jr. Mike is a huge NASCAR fan, and also enjoys the O’s!
People he most admires? His parents! “I see all they’ve been through, and they are still going, and making it together!”
Traits he believes are most important to have? Honesty and Integrity! Not enough people have them.
If he hadn’t chosen his current career path, where would he be? And what would he like to be doing? Believe it or not…He wouldn’t change a thing. “I’d pick the same path. I like it here, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
What makes him an asset, in his opinion? Reliable, knowledgeable, and a team player! “Avionics is always changing and improving. I’m willing to change with it, and learn.”
Great attitude to have – we are glad you wouldn’t change your path! Congratulations!
