I have lived in Frederick,
Maryland since about 1991 with my wife and two kids (the kids came later.)
It is a nice town, but like every suburb around DC civilization is quickly
taking over out here. Frederick has a lot of neat places and companies,
including (one of my favorites!)
Frederick Brewing
Co.
I believe in supporting local businesses, and I try to do my part. :-0 I
also run BeerGeek.org.
I am a Linux
fanatic, and support the concept of free
software. If I had more free time, I would spend it porting Linux to new
hardware (HP-PB maybe,) writing new software, and improving existing software
and drivers for Linux. I have not found that perfect job of doing just that,
yet.... but I'm looking
I run my own in house network with dedicated T1 lines to the Internet. I have
lots of Linux Servers running in my basement. I used to try to keep up with the latest
Linux kernels on my development i386 with 20 MB. It was very slow by today's
standards, but it was (as "Data" would say) fully functional. The
compile times got so long for the current kernels that it took the fun out of
it.
I now support about 50 Linux servers in Frederick and Northern
VA area.
